This is a great subject to do an action research project on. Schedule changes are always an issue and cause the student to get behind in a class. Also it makes it difficult for the teacher to work with kids to get them caught up as well. Getting input from teachers will be beneficial in your research, also talking with the counselors and coming up with a solutions can be helpful too.
ReplyDeleteI think your action research is interesting. Most of us do not take the time to stop and think, do frequent schedules changes affect a child? How do you plan on monitoring progress and sustain improvement?
ReplyDeleteThis is very interesting, students at my high school have schedule changes often and I wonder why especially in the middle of a six weeks close to the end of the year a schedule would be changed. Do you plan on asking why the schedules were changed, did I miss that part? I look forward to your progress.
ReplyDeleteI think you really need to involve counselors who sign up kids for classes in the mix here. Is this a middle school or high school? Either way the matriculation and placement process is failing these kids if they have a bunch of scheduling changes. As discipline begins with good lesson planning, so does student schedules begin with good matriculation planning.
